Orange Shirt Day
Phyllis Webstad was sent to St. Joseph’s Mission Residential school in 1973/1974, where they took away her clothes, including the orange shirt her family bought her for her first day of school. This day recognizes the legacy of the Residential School System for the Indigenous families and communities.
By wearing an orange shirt, we honour the survivors, and we remember the thousands of children who died in these schools, and those buried in unmarked graves.
Where to Purchase Orange Shirts?
When purchasing orange shirts, it is important to support Indigenous organizations and artists!
