2018 ANNUAL CONFERENCE

The Toronto Shelter Network held its Fourth Annual Conference on October 25, 2018 at Hart House on the University of Toronto campus. The conference this year focused on a number of important issues facing the Toronto shelter system in a time of extreme growth and change. Some of these issues included assisting refugee clients though the claimant process, harm reduction, and working with an aging population in the system. We were also fortunate enough to have Member of Parliament Adam Vaughan speak to us about Canada’s first National Housing Strategy and what it means for the shelter system. There was a record number of attendees this year, with nearly 180 shelter workers in attendance. If you have any questions or feedback related to this years conference, please reach out to lindsaymaeparsons@gmail.com.
